What We're Building
Pandoro is the research and open science wing of Bread Board Foundry. We're developing machine learning tools that help scientific researchers working on climate, weather, and environmental monitoring, with an emphasis on accessibility and reproducibility.
Unlike commercial ML infrastructure optimized for enterprise deployment pipelines, we build tools that prioritize hardware transparency, clear documentation, and straightforward implementation: reference code researchers can adapt to their domains, and infrastructure that teams without ML engineering backgrounds can use.
Our work focuses on making proven academic research accessible through open source implementations, building bridges between published research and practical application.
Our Approach
Open Source by Default
Code, data pipelines, and documentation published under permissive licenses. Free for academic research with citation requirements. Commercial licensing available for private sector applications.
Domain Infrastructure
Tools built for domain scientists, not just ML specialists. Climate researchers shouldn't need infrastructure engineering expertise to implement published ML methods for their specific applications.
Clean Energy Infrastructure
All development work and compute infrastructure powered by Washington state's renewable hydroelectric grid, minimizing environmental impact of compute-intensive research.
Hardware Transparency
Complete specifications disclosed for reproducibility. Research publication requires knowing exactly what hardware ran which experiments. We provide that documentation rather than abstracting it away.
Current Projects
Local Observations and Atmospheric Forecasting
LOAF is an open source hyperlocal weather forecasting platform combining gridded forecasts with local station observations using multi-modal transformers. Foundation work builds on October 2024 Earth Intelligence Lab research.
Research-Grade Compute
Dedicated GPU systems with fixed monthly pricing and complete hardware transparency for reproducible research. Full specifications disclosed so teams can reference exact configurations in publications and replicate environments.
